I love getting the privilege of photographing families as they grow! I have photographed this sweet family twice before, once for Anne’s first Baby Belly and the second time for sweet Baby Ender.

I did not want to let the day get away without posting pictures from a very fun recent session. Last year I got the chance to meet Andrea and her Grand daughter, Alexys. This year I got to shoot Tyler’s Senior pictures and meet the rest of the cousins! Andrea was the winner of the free Portrait giveaway I did this year. It was great fun to spend an afternoon with all of them. Here are a few favorites from our time together!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to capture some pictures for a celebration thrown for one of our teaching pastors at church.

It was great fun to be a part of this evening and celebration. So grateful for both John and Stacey and all they do!

Okay, it is way past noon and I am late getting this posted! I have been knocked out with a cold today (Oh, the irony!) but I wanted to let you know who the winner is before the day got away. Congratulations, Andrea Amuso! I know, I know. You wrote me to nominate your grandson Tyler. But that’s the fun of having your own blog, you get to bend the rules a little bit when needed. Andrea, I have watched the way you have loved your grand kids, how you lift them both up and do all you can to provide for them. I have seen the way you help others and I wanted to honor you for all you do. Thank you for writing in to tell me about Tyler. The Gift of…Yumminess!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a lovely time browsing for a trinket or two last week. Today I wanted to share with you two of my favorite local establishments to shop. Both are fairly new business here in Phoenix, both serve treats and are great places to pick up a little something special for just about anyone on your list!

The first I would consider my favorite “Candy” Store. Although they don’t really sell candy. They sell Teas. Hundreds of loose leaf, delicious smelling, wonderful tasting Teas. Take a look inside Fleur de Teas…

Cozy welcoming tables and chairs, holiday decorations, Tea and treat samples…I just love this place! Rows and rows of exotic, soothing, yummy Teas. Under every bag is a little jar with a small amount of tea so you can see, touch and smell before you buy. How clever is that?!

Not to mention all the fun Tea related accessories you can buy from mugs to diffusers, hand poured Candles and even a line of luxury Bath products that smell heavenly!

And to top it all of, the owner Holly, is one of the nicest most knowledgeable people you could meet. She will gladly answer any questions and tell you all you want to know about a particular tea, or suggest one to your liking. My favorites are White Cloud, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Creme Brulle. So stop on by and buy some Tea or a Gift basket! Fleur de Teas is located at 5812 N 16th St. in Phoenix AZ. They are on the Southwest corner of 16th Street & Bethany Home Rd between the Phoenix City Grille & Salon Kismet. Find them online and like them on Facebook, too!

Continuing on our tour of Yumminess…do you know about Smeeks?? If you don’t, you should! Smeeks is a darling little one stop shop for all things sweet. I jokingly refer to Fleur de Teas as my favorite “candy store”, but Smeeks is my kids favorite, hands down!! I know they are dreaming of one or two of these treats in their stockings this year…

Smeeks also sells a nice assortment of sugar free and vegan candy as well as fun retro candy and candy from Asia and Canada. Besides the treats, you can pick up a fun gifts for all ages. They have some pretty unique items you won’t find any where else, guaranteed to put a huge smile on the face of the recipient. Plus, gotta love the little gnome!

So come, be a kid in a candy store, for real Indulge your sweet tooth and discover one of Phoenix’s best kept secrets. Smeeks is located at 14 W. Camelback Road in Phoenix, AZ. You will love them in person but you can also Like them on Facebook!!

Alas, our treat fest is over for the day. Just in time to head out and do some shopping for stocking stuffers! Hmmm, three guesses where you will be able to find me this weekend…

Okay, I fully admit it. I am a girly girl. I love Jewelry, love to shop, love things sparkly and pretty and feminine! So when thinking of my favorite gift ideas a little bit of Bling is always at the top of my list. So what to get for the girl who has everything? How about something fun and playful? Kaitlyn {Phoenix High School Senior Portrait Photography}

Meet Kaitlyn, my final High School Senior of the 2010 Season. And what a fun session to end with this year! I loved meeting Kaitlyn and had a great time shooting her Senior Portraits. In her pre-session questionnaire, Kaitlyn’s mom wrote “I want her to remember the smell and presence of Jesus swirling through and around the pain. I want themes that are part of our family like authenticity and justice and fierce love to be “keepers”. I want her to be released into this next season with a sense of having been blessed as a woman. I want her to remember that she is beautiful.” Wow. Loved that! I so hope it is true for them post-session as well. Kaitlyn you are beautiful! And so full of light and creativity. You made my job so easy with how open you were to everything I wanted to try! Jansen {Phoenix High School Senior Portrait Photography}

Saturday afternoon I got to hang out with Jansen and his mom, Chris. Chris is one of my favorite women on the planet. She is amazingly funny and so sweet! I was beyond thrilled when she asked me to do Jansen’s Senior Portraits. Chris clued me in to the fact that Jansen loves playing his guitar and is heading off to college to study Architecture. With the combination of those two in mind, I had the perfect spot to shoot! We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day. Jansen did amazing. We laughed and chatted and he was a natural in front of the camera! Thank you, thank you for letting me be a part of this day with you! I so enjoyed our time together. Not to mention a certain very cool chair…in the back of a truck….that wasn’t exactly ours….hypothetically of course!! Enjoy your sneak peak! Lot’s more to come

Meredith & Andy {Phoenix Maternity, Newborn, and Child Photography}

I was really excited when Meredith contacted me a few months back to schedule her Maternity session for this spring. The day of her session arrived…but so did the rain clouds! So we rescheduled for a few weeks out. The rain showed up AGAIN. Meredith was great. She really wanted a bright sunny day so we just rescheduled for another two weeks out. Low and behold, no rain clouds. But a sick little girl. (Mine!) We ended up having to reschedule about 4 times before we actually met up this past Sunday for her session! A true Murphy’s Law of events may have preceded her actual session, but our time together was lovely! The sun was shining, the day was breezy and warm and Meredith was absolutely radiant.

Andy, Meredith’s husband of three years, was a riot. He had us laughing the whole time. But the thing I will remember most about this session was they way he looked at her. My, oh my. Andy looked at Meredith like she was the most beautiful, amazing, funny, intelligent woman on the face of the planet. Every woman should be looked at like that at least once in her life. I had a great time spending time with them and I am so looking forward to meeting their new little boy when he makes his appearance! Michelle’s Baby Ella Belly

My friend Michelle came by a few days before her C-Section was scheduled to take a few shots of her Baby belly. She had her 2 sons with her and we had a sweet morning getting some quick shots of her last few days of pregnancy. The boys were so sweet! Kissing her belly and talking about how excited they were to meet their new sister. Baby Ella has made her appearance and I’ll be doing her pictures next week. Can’t wait!
