Laughter, hill rolling and tickle fights…oh my! Meet the lovely and playful Simpson Family. We met downtown Phoenix on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for a Holiday session and had a great time. Here are a few of my favorites from their session. Enjoy!

Paying it Forward…win a Complete Portrait Session! {Phoenix Lifestyle and Family Photography}

For those of you who follow my blog at all, you might remember that I did a Portrait Give away for a High School Senior last year. I enjoyed it so much I decided to make it a part of my Holiday traditions. But this year I wanted to do it a little bit differently. In this season of giving and in this year when so many people are hurting financially, I feel so fortunate to have a job I love and that lets me pay the bills by using my creativity. I know that hiring a professional Photographer is a huge investment and it is not in every ones reach to do so. I am so grateful to all of you who have included me as a part of your memories this year!

I would love to pay the blessings forward by gifting a complete Portrait Session including all High Resolution Images on a disk. There are no limitations this year on who can win….Nominate a family, a new or soon to be mom, or a High School Senior. Husbands, think your wife is amazing and know she has always wanted portraits done? Do you have the most amazing Mom/Dad/Best friend whom you want to give the gift of memories? Tell me all about it! What I loved last year was reading about the teens whom you love and are proud of. I am so looking forward to reading your stories this year!

Tell me about the truly wonderful person who should win a free portrait session! Tell me (in a few paragraphs please!) why this person is so wonderful and most importantly, why do you think they should win a free portrait session. These do not have to be hardship stories. Tell me about the person who makes you laugh the hardest or bakes the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. Me and my trusty nominations committee (READ: Me, my husband, my mom and my three kids!) will pick one lucky winner based on the entries. And yes, you can nominate yourself!

The What:
The winner must live here in the Phoenix metro area. Portrait session will take place between Feb 1 – March 30, 2011
The winning entry will receive a 2 hour Portrait Session at a location here in the Phoenix metro area and the entire disc of all the final, edited images (usually 30-35 per session). There is no obligation to purchase anything! Wahoo!

The Who:
Nominate someone in your life and email me as to why he/she is so wonderful and deserving of a free session. (and remember, you can nominate yourself!)
I must receive all emailed entries by Midnight PST Friday, December 10, 2010. The Winner will be announced by Noon PST here on this blog and on my Facebook page on Monday, December 13th….just in time to make this a great Holiday Gift!

The How:
Send emails to sandi@sandishipleyphotography.com. Email me your entry by the deadline. Include your own full name and contact information. Also include the name of the person you are nominating, how you know them, and why they are so deserving. If you want to include a small picture of the person you are nominating you may but it is not required! The winning entry will be emailed to make arrangements for contacting the winner. Tell a friend!

The Fine Print:
Emails MUST be received before the deadline. Entries received after Midnight on Friday 12/10/10 will not be considered. Winning person(s) must either live here in the Phoenix metro area or be able to get here and session must be completed in February or March of 2011. Dates will be scheduled according to photographers availability during those months.

Well, well well…after taking several months off, I am back to post the start of the Holiday sessions for 2010! There is no better way to kick off my holiday season than by taking pictures of some very good friends. So, without further ado…the lovely Waddell family!

Priscilla {Phoenix Senior High School Portraits}

There are few things that make me as happy as when someone I know and love says those sweet words…”We need to book you for…” This time it was for Priscilla’s High School Senior Portraits. I first met Priscilla 5 years ago helping out iver the summer in our church’s VBS program. She has given her time and talent time in so many ways. She was my co-counselor two summers ago up at Camp, and I have that absolute pleasure of having her hang out with me again this year! It is amazing how quickly 5 years passes. Since then I have watched her grow into such a lovely, confident and talented young lady! And now she is months away from heading off to college. Sigh. Priscilla, I am so grateful for you! Thank you for letting me into your world, trusting me with our coffee talks, late night camp talks and for the times you have loved my kids so well! I am so proud of you and can’t wait to see what God has in store for you.

Sarah {Phoenix High School Senior Portrait Photography}

Sarah was the second winner of my Senior Portrait giveaway! We headed downtown Phoenix Wednesday morning for her session and had a great time. A Senior at Sunnyslope High School, Sarah was actually nominated by two separate people. Here is a little bit from what both people had to say about Sarah…

Sarah Doyle, Sarah’s Small group leader wrote me these words about Sarah: “She is a born leader and is able to influence those around her. She is kind and deeply loyal to her family and friends. She has a sweet passion for developmentally delayed children and hopes to be a special education teacher or work with them in another way. Sarah is currently the editor of her high school newspaper and plays on the varsity soccer team. In the spring she will be on the track team where she will compete in triple jump and long jump. She was a cheerleader for the first time this year during football season. She is learning to play the piano in school and maintains a B average in her classes. She is on our high school leadership team, and remains committed to my small group. She goes to many of the Senior High events, went on the Mexico mission trip with our church the last two years, helped with VBS, and did Kid’s Club with Neighborhood Ministries this summer. She works and plays hard in everything she is a part of, so much so that she loses her voice often from sheer exhaustion.”

And Sue DeForrest, a close friend, had this to add: “(Sarah) is a Senior at Sunnyslope High School and has dealt with so much in her young life. In spite of all her struggles, Sarah has persevered. She has been on the swim team, soccer team, track team and this year she was a cheerleader. She has wrestled with and hung in there with God and is regular at ODF. And best of all she will graduate in a few months with plans and hope for her future!”

It was great fun to meet you Sarah! You are lovely inside and out and you did fantastic during your session! Enjoy your sneak peak….
