Ahhhh…summer. So ironic to be posting this as we near the middle of September. We had a lovely week soaking in the sun, playing on the beach and enjoying some down time together as a family. Here are just a quick few from our Mexico Vacation 2011.

This trip was a little bit different for me. I very much wanted to be present for my kids, so I left my camera behind for most of the time we were there. It was a wonderful time and we played our hearts out. Looking forward to going back again next year!

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This has been a super busy week but I did not want to let it end without posting a few of my favorites from this very sweet session. This is the third year in a row I have had the privilege of doing holiday pictures for Sarah and her sweet little guy, Jack. It is so much fun to see the changes in this super fun, super sweet little boy. Last year we ran like crazy. This year we threw rocks into the ponds, looked for ducks and just explored. Meet sweet Sienna. Last month I did Katy’s maternity session out at their home. I recently went back to meet the lovely and very tiny baby Sienna. I really enjoyed meeting this family and I have a feeling you will be seeing more of them in the future!

Parker, Ben and JoJo {Phoenix Family and Child Photographer}

I have loved spending time with each and every family I have photographed this season! It is fun to watch the tangible loosening up of kids during our time together. Ben, Parker and JoJo were the perfect example of this. By the time we were done they were giggling and having a great time, completely forgetting about the camera. Jacks Day Out {Phoenix Child and Family Photographer}

Question: How do you get a vibrant, curious, energetic 2 year old boy to sit still, look at the camera and smile??

Answer: You don’t! You give in to their amazing desire to explore every nook and cranny of their environment. You put on you running shoes, get down on the floor with them and see the world through their eyes. Or at least that is what we did with Jack. Last year when we met, Jack was 1 year old and crawling. We could put him down on the ground and have at least a few seconds to snap a few shots before he was off again. Not so much this year! He is all 2 year old boy! We chased, we smelled flowers, we played with falling leaves. His beautiful mom, Sarah did a great job of letting him be and just played along with him! Sarah…thanks for coming back for pictures this year! There are lots more great shots to come. Here are just a few from our very fun session…..
